Making Good Friends With Room Mates!!

Moving out of your homes, leaving the cozy nest of mom dad to be on your own is a phenomenon known to us all. Living in a new city, finding a place to stay and making friends with your roomies is a part of life. Yet some of us do not get along well with the new room mates which makes emotionally upset and makes our lives a li’l difficult at times. So here are some tips on how to be good friends to room mates. Trust me its simple if you put your mind to it. Just act yourself and you may succeed.

Steps

• Let roommates be themselves and you be yourself.
• Lay down the rules about coming into your room and what will happen to them if they do. If you have rules about your cube you will have to treat their cubes with the same respect that they will give you in return.
• Help them if they are in need of help.
• If two other roommates are fighting then stop them and make them respect each other and tell that you won't put up with their nonsense.
• Let other roommates in peace to study for tests and stuff.
• Let other roommates sleep in peace. It is okay to tell them to quiet down while you need your sleep as well.
• Keep rooms tidy and roommates will think that you are a nice and clean person.
• Make rules and make sure everyone obeys them.

Tips

• Keep tidy rooms, this will help with bigger friendship.
• Try not to get to angry otherwise roommates won't like you.
• Keep yourself very healthy and hygienic so people don't have to put up with stinky friends.

Warnings

• Trying to stop two people fighting will probably be hard to do at first but try help and it might help.

Meeting New Friends At A Pub!!

Moving to a new town usually means having to build a new circle of friends. This can seem daunting and may take some time and effort. One good place to meet people is at a bar or pub, as these are places made specifically for socializing. Here are some very straightforward suggestions to get you started.

Steps

• Decide on the bar/pub/cafe you are going to concentrate your efforts on. Ideally, it should be within walking distance, frequented by people you would be happy being friends with, have music at a volume that allows conversation, have a regular clientele and have busy periods and quiet periods.
• Pick a relatively quiet time to visit when sitting on your own would not look out of place. Saturday and Sunday afternoons, or Monday and Tuesday evenings are good times.
• Take something to occupy yourself, such as a book or newspaper.
• Engage the bar staff in conversation if they are not too busy. They often have their friends coming to the bar and know a larger number of regulars.
• Take the plunge and introduce yourself to a group of people at the bar. Good starting lines are: "I don't know anyone here, would you mind me joining your table?" or "I'm new to the area, can you tell me places to go?".
• Keep the conversation light-hearted until a bond is built.
Tips

• When introducing yourself, already have a drink in your hand. This avoids the embarrassment of getting into rounds at this early stage.
• Do not ingratiate yourself by offering to buy a drink, as this comes across as desperate.
• Smile.
• Do not talk about negative issues at this point (e.g., depression, recent break-ups, etc.), as this will just scare others off.
• Persevere. Even if you don't hit it off with the people you first meet, they can introduce you to more people.
• Choose a good time to leave before you have exhausted the initial meeting.
• Talk to someone who is in the same mood as you would like to be.

Warnings

• Do not try meeting new people if you are drunk.
• Do not play on people's pity.
• Do not bother with people who are making sport of you.
• Do not make up other friends to talk about with your new friends.

Recommendations to Employers, Supervisors
For Celebrating Administrative Professionals Week

If you’re an employer or supervisor, chances are you’ve wondered how best to observe Administrative Professionals Week.

Most administrative support staff prefer observances that recognize their professional role or provide opportunities for professional learning and growth, according to the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP).

IAAP suggests that employers consider these ideas for observances:

  • Hold a company-wide observance or special event for administrative staff, such as a presentation by a professional development speaker, or a group recognition of administrative professionals by the chief executive.

  • Provide registration for a professional development seminar to build the individual’s technical, interpersonal or business skills.

  • Support membership in appropriate networking and professional associations.

  • Encourage study for and attainment of professional certification.

Additional gift suggestions include appropriate business-related items such as personalized business cards, a desktop nameplate, a gift certificate, ergonomically correct desk accessories or equipment, computer hardware/software upgrade, or a monetary bonus for exemplary performance.

IAAP also suggests that it’s always wise for employers, managers, supervisors or executives to ask their administrative staff how they would prefer to observe Administrative Professionals Week.

Blue Berry Muffins

Ingredients:

• 1 c. flour
• 1 c. oatmeal
• 3 tbsp. sugar
• 1 tsp. salt

• 1 c. milk
• 1/4 c. vegetable oil

Thus the graduation day brings along much excitement and joy, which needs to be preserved for the rest of your life. A nice option of making this day all the more special is giving out nice graduation gifts to the graduating person.

Looking for gift ideas for high school or college graduation? A book is an ideal gift for graduates because it helps them reflect on where they have been and where they are going. A book can be sentimental, practical and entertaining. If you need ideas for the perfect book to give for an upcoming high school or college graduation, look no further.

Friendship Humor!!

Sherlock Holmes and Watson are camping in the desert; they set up their tent and fall asleep. Some hours later, Sherlock Holmes wakes his friend.
"Watson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see."

Watson replies, "Me see millions of stars."

"What does that tell you?" asks Sherlock Holmes.

Watson ponders for a minute.

"Astronomically speaking, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, it tells me that Saturn is in Leo. Time wise, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three. Theologically, it's evident the Lord is all powerful and we are small and insignificant. Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. What does it tell you?"

Sherlock Holmes is silent for a moment, then speaks.

"Watson, you idiot, someone has stolen our tent."

The Recipe for Friendship!!

Fold two hands together
And express a dash of sorrow
Marinate it overnight
And work on it tomorrow
Chop one grudge in tiny pieces
Add several cups of love
Dredge with a large sized smile
Mix with the ingredients above
Dissolve the hate within you
By doing a good deed
Cut in and help your friend
If he should be in need
Stir in laughter, love, and kindness
From the heart it has to come
Toss with genuine forgiveness
And give your neighbor some
The amount of people served
Will depend on you
It can serve the whole wide world
If you really want it to!!

Each one of us has to go through difficult times in life. The road maybe very long and rough but it becomes shorter and easier to tread upon, when we have the love and support of good friends. Just the thought that they are there to listen to you and to understand is assuring enough. So reach out to all your friends and loved ones with these many wonderful ways to say 'I'm Always Here For You'.
